Terms and Conditions
Subjects
These Terms & Conditions are agreed between Italian Classes Live LTD and you as student. Please review these Terms carefully before using the Site or enrolling for a course.
Acceptance of the Terms
By using the information, tools, features and functionality located on italianclasseslive.com or in the email sent by the domain italianclasseslive.com or attending the classes via any streaming/meeting online or in person (together the “Service” or the “Services”), you agree to be bound by these Agreements and Terms, whether you are a “Visitor” (which means that you simply browse the website) or you are a “Student” (which means that you have registered for a course). The term “you” or “student” or “user” refers to a Visitor or a Student. The term “we” refers to Italian Classes Live LTD. If you wish to become a Student, communicate with other Students and/or make use of the Service, you must read this Agreement and indicate your acceptance during the registration process.
In order to subscribe or use the Service, you must (a) be 18 years of age or older to use teacher-led classes (whether group or private), and be 16 years of age or older to use other parts of the Service (e.g. the self-study side of the Service) and (b) have the power to enter into a binding contract with us and not be barred from doing so under any applicable laws. If we learn that you are under 18 and taking part in teacher-led classes and/or under 16 and using other parts of the Service, we will have the right to terminate all of your classes and/or disable your account. You also warrant that any registration information that you submit to us is true, accurate and complete, and you agree to immediately notify us of any subsequent changes.
Services provided
Italian Classes Live LTD provides Italian lessons for students ranging from Absolute Beginners to Advanced. Our classes are provided online in the form of interactive webinars.
We offer group or individual classes. In the case of group classes, we will utilise teacher-students and peer to peer interactions within the webinar platform (e.g. using break-out rooms) in order to allow for practise with and between the students. The teacher is always connected, and can visit any break-out room to monitor the interactions.
The teacher also provides individual sessions with the students giving feedback on the learning progression and receiving feedback from the student about his expectations and plans. We aim to collect information about your learning plan, your difficulties and weaknesses in order to customize the lessons.
Level evaluation
We will ask you to take a language level assessment before starting the course in order to allow us to judge your level and assign you to the course we expect best suits you. We may propose anytime to you to change your class and move you to a higher or lower level when we feel it’s appropriate. In this case we guarantee that you will receive the same number of class hours in the new level we agreed when you sign-up, minus the hours of lessons you already have received in the previous level before the switch. In case you will be placed on a longer or shorter course, we will discuss with you the price-adjustment that can be either a partial refund or partial integration payment before you will be placed to the new class.
Course enrollment
We consider you confirmed as a class student for the selected course upon receipt of the fee payment. After the fee payment we consider you and us committed to attend to the full schedule.
You may be invited to attend the class before the actual payment has been received; in such circumstances we consider you a confirmed student with a retroactive date of the first time you have been connected only after we have received the fee payment. You cannot claim any student right before the payment has been received by us.
When you are considered enrolled in the course, you will receive a welcome email with the contact details of the teacher, and the schedule of the lesson. We also let you know what software is needed to join the class (e.g. zoom) and send you the instructions to install it.
Right to cancel
Planning a class takes time and effort, and we need to have serious commitment from the students.
For our group classes we need a minimum of students to create the right class interaction required by our teaching methodology. We therefore reserve the right to cancel a class if we don’t reach the minimum number of students. In this case we will communicate to you as soon as possible.
In such circumstances we will either propose a refund or new class start date or new schedule. If you don’t agree with the new schedule or start date, we will reimburse you the price you have paid minus the pro-rata fees for any lessons you have already received.
We understand that your plans may change. Please inform us as soon as possible if you cannot attend the course anymore.
You have a right to cancel your subscription as a student within 15 days from the payment. In this case we will refund you the fee paid minus the pro-rata fee for the classes you have attended. After the 15 day window, the fee will not be refunded, but we may be able to make you a new proposal or discount to enroll in a new course at a later date.
If you drop the course without notifying us or discussing with us, the fee will not be refunded nor any future discount offered.
Connection problems or lessons missed
We require the students to have a reliable internet connection and all necessary computer equipment to attend the course. It’s your responsibility to get connected and run the software requested for the lesson.
In case you have a problem connecting before or on the first day, please contact your teacher.
We expect to use ZOOM or equivalent software (e.g. skype or Google meeting) to stream the class event. You must be able to install the client software as described in the welcome email. You also should be able to browse internet web-pages in order to get the material we provide during or before the class.
If you have problems during the class streaming, we are not responsible for missed full or partial lessons, and we may not be able to reply to any attempts to contact us while we are streaming with the other students.
If you miss a lesson for any reason, please contact your teacher. We will provide you with the class topic and exercises to support you to self-study the missed lesson.
If you plan to miss or you have missed more than one or two lessons, please contact your teacher to discuss whether you will be able to continue the course or need to start a new course.
We are striving to provide the best experience possible, but unfortunately problems may hit the teacher or the streaming platform too. If the teacher is not able to do the class or their connection drops before or during the course we aim to contact you via email as soon as possible to explain that we have a problem and to propose to you how to recover the missed lesson.
