Hello! I’m Alice and with great enthusiasm I teach Italian around the world. I love travelling, learning about new cultures and I really like my expat life because every day is a new adventure.
After living in London, where I also became a mother, where I currently live and teach Italian.
With the birth of my children, I decided to get back into the game and become an Italian teacher; initially because I wanted to teach them my language to be able to communicate with their grandparents, then it became my new profession.
I grew up in Toscana where I achieved a LL.M. in Law at the University of Siena. In between my two pregnancies I obtained a Masters in Italian teaching for non-mother tongue speaking. I also have the TIAFAL (Certificate of Teacher of Italian as a Foreign Language), obtained at the Italian Cultural Institute in London.
Learning a new language is a challenging path that opens up new horizons and helps you to put your feet into a new culture and way of thinking.
Guiding the students on this journey is what I love to do more than anything else. I can’t wait to meet you, I’m waiting for you in my class!
Hi, my name is Chiara. I’m originally from Lake Como in the North of Italy but I have been living in London for 20 years. I have always loved languages, I hold a Honours Degree in English and French from Università Cattolica in Milan and a TIAFL Certificate from the Italian Cultural Institute in London.
I believe that learning a language is about immersing yourself in a different culture, opening your mind to different ways of thinking and living. Whilst learning new vocabulary, idiomatic expressions and grammar, you can also discover Italian art, cinema, music, literature, gaining a real insight into Italian culture.
My teaching approach is communicative and student-centred, aiming to create an enjoyable and productive atmosphere in my classes with materials tailored to your needs and interests.
What I enjoy the most about teaching is seeing my students building their confidence and progressing through their learning journey to become independent language learners.
I’m looking forward to working with you, see you soon!
Our school offers courses for all language levels with a wide choice of lessons in the week and at weekends held by native and certified Italian teachers.
We try to recreate the environment of a real classroom as much as possible, with an average of 4 students per class.
We firmly believe in the effectiveness of a lesson given in a small class, the interaction between peers being a fundamental part of the language improvement process.
We offer a customised learning plan including two hours of free individual lessons, spread over three stages: one at the beginning, one half way and one at the end of the course.
Our Italian teachers create stimulating materials, custom-tailored to specific needs and interests of the students in that class. We use authentic resources such as newspaper articles, films and audios to create an interactive and fun atmosphere. You don’t have to purchase any book: all the materials are provided by your teacher.
Our method is communicative and inductive. We stimulate the development of the 4 fundamental linguistic skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking. We start with a written or oral exercise and we introduce grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation related to it. We also reflect on the meaning of cultural aspects that are part of the language learning process.
We encourage students to speak Italian during each lesson, through activities in pairs or in small groups, with great attention to oral peer interaction.
We strive to make our lessons dynamic and fun, with role-playing games and real-life contexts to help the students become fully confident in their Italian.
Our Live Italian classes take place via Zoom with a small class of students. The teacher will screen share the materials and the students can interact in pairs through the break out rooms.
To take part in our classes all you need is a desktop computer, laptop or smartphone and a reliable internet connection.
All the materials for the lessons and homework will be provided by your teacher. You won’t need to buy any books or additional materials for your course.
We have created an Italian language test to assess your level. Please take our test to find out the best class for you.
You can also check the syllabus for each class to find out in detail what every course covers in terms of situations, grammar, topics and Italian culture.
