Milano Fashion Week will take place from the 21st to the 27th September 2021, with the highly anticipated Spring / Summer 2022 Women Collection, which will mark the return to events in attendance, with 42 live fashion shows out of 61 scheduled events.
Milan is thrilled about Fashion Week. Fashion shows, collections and events will envelop Milan in an embrace of refinement and elegance.
There are great expectations also for the first Italian edition of “Green Carpet Fashion Awards Italia” that will be inside the world-famous Scala, and it is one of the most shining events of the Week, attended by some of the world’s most influential people.
The show, hosted by Cate Blanchett, celebrates and awards the commitment of top fashion designers and top Italian fashion houses; the innovative changemakers, disruptors, forward thinkers that are shaping the Italian fashion industry commit to influence the industry towards a green and sustainable future.
This Blanchett’s show is definelly the environmentally friendly version of all high-end gala shows. It strives to be top-class in every aspect and designed around social responsibility.
Also for this season, the National Chamber of Fashion will offer the opportunity to follow the event on-line on milanofashionweek.cameramoda.it. This is a web platform that the fashion society makes available for everyone to follow digitally and to enjoy all the contents of Milan Fashion Week, including fashion shows and presentations without travelling to Milan.
What is Milano fashion week?
Twice a year, in February and September, fashion week puts fashion in the spotlight and celebrates it in the heart of Milan with buyers, press and fans of the fashion trends. It is organized by the Italian Chamber of Fashion; Milan Fashion Week presents a programme with about 70 fashion shows and 90 designer presentations to the international audience and press.
Who organises Milano fashion week?
Milan Fashion Week is a showcase that opens twice a year in Milan, Italy. The first edition was in 1958, the Milan Fashion Week was hosted by the Italian Chamber of Fashion, which later changed its name to the National Chamber of Italian Fashion. At the time, the event consisted of fashion shows and exhibitions that presented the Italian fashion industry and its talents. Today Milan fashion week is still organised by the Chamber of Fashion, which aims to promote Italian designers both in Italy and internationally.
Where does Milano fashion week take place?
Recently, Milan Fashion Week moved to three main locations in the city of Milan: Spazio Cavallerizze, which is part of the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology; The Sala delle Cariatidi of the Royal Palace and the Visconti Pavilion, in the heart of the Scala laboratory, in via Tortona. Other fashion week venues are scattered throughout the city, especially for larger fashion houses such as Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana or Prada.
